Freaky Friday is back!
Please join your fellow Highcrest Hawks on Friday, October 22nd from 5-6:30 pm for a night of games, DJ, Kona Ice, a photo booth, inflatables, and more! Our event is outside for the first time and students can remain unmasked, but please bring a mask for instances where 3 feet of distancing cannot be maintained (bounce house) or to use the restrooms. Speaking of masks, Halloween costumes are encouraged!
Please note that this is an event exclusively and especially for Highcrest students! Tickets are $15 each and are only being sold online here.
Parents, we need your help, too! If you’d like to volunteer and help give the kiddos an amazing night, please sign up here.
Frequently Asked Questions:

Freaky Friday is a Halloween-themed party for students of Highcrest Middle School only.
When and where is Freaky Friday?
Freaky Friday will be held on Friday, October 22, 2021 from 5:00 – 6:30 pm as an outdoor event at Highcrest. A rain date is set for the same time on Friday, October 29, 2021.

No. Costumes are not mandatory, but students are encouraged to wear costumes. Costumes should be school-appropriate.
Are face-coverings (masks) required at Freaky Friday due to the pandemic?
Freaky Friday will be an outdoor event. Masks will not be required. However, students should plan to bring a mask (a facemask as suggested by the CDC and IDPH, and not a costume-type mask) for any instance at the event where they cannot social-distance by at least three feet (i.e., in bounce-houses) and for accessing the indoor restrooms.
Is Freaky Friday free?
No. A wristband must be purchased through the AtoZ Connect store. AtoZ can be accessed either:
• from the Highcrest PTO website (highcrestpto.org). From the homepage, (1) click on the Freaky Friday link which will take you to AtoZ, (2) login in to AtoZ by clicking on the “Login” link on the left-hand menu, (3) once logged in, click on the link titled “Highcrest Store-Freaky Friday Tickets…” on the left-hand menu, and (4) follow the steps to purchase a wristband; or
• from the Membership Toolkit app on your personal device. From the app, (1) Make sure Highcrest Middle School is the selected school, (2) if AtoZ does not open to the store, you can find the store by pressing the three lines in the top left-hand corner and clicking the link titled “Highcrest Store – Freaky Friday Tickets…”, and (3) follow the steps to purchase a wristband.
Please note whether accessing AtoZ through the app or through the Highcrest PTO website, make sure you are logged in to AtoZ in order for your student’s name to populate for your wristband purchase. You are not required to have purchased the AtoZ Directory in order to purchase a Freaky Friday wristband.
How much do wristbands cost?
Wristbands cost $15.00 and cover all games, dancing and snacks at Freaky Friday.
When and how will my student get the wristband?
Wristbands will be distributed to students by their homeroom teachers on the day of Freaky Friday. Students will be encouraged to put wristbands on immediately in order to avoid losing or misplacing them prior to the event.
What activities are at Freaky Friday?
There are carnival-type games with prizes, inflatable obstacle courses and games, a bounce-house, dancing with a DJ, and snacks.
My student has peanut allergies. Can my student eat the food at the event?
Food will be limited to nut-free and dairy-free candy, shaved ice from Kona Ice and bottled water. Please note, a full meal will not be provided.
Do you mind hanging on to my student’s EpiPen in case of an allergic reaction at the event?
Our volunteers cannot be responsible for EpiPens or other medications while your student attends Freaky Friday. The school nurse is not in attendance, and PTO volunteers do not have access to the nurse’s office. Please plan accordingly.
Is my student allowed to leave during the event?
Students are not allowed to leave during the event unless they are picked up from the front entrance by a parent/guardian. At 6:30 pm, the students will be allowed to leave, and parents need to make sure they pick up their students promptly.
Can I buy a wristband for my student’s friend/sibling who would also like to attend?
No. Only students of Highcrest may attend Freaky Friday.
My student has special needs. Will my student be able to attend with a chaperone?
Yes, absolutely! Please contact your student’s Learning Behavior Specialist or GLAd to request an aide. Your student’s chaperone will also need a wristband, but that is at no charge to you.
Darn! I missed the wristband purchase deadline but my student really, really wants to attend! What should I do?!?
A limited number of wristbands will be available at the entrance for last-minute purchase, but please make every effort to purchase a wristband for your student prior to the event. If you do need to purchase a wristband at the entrance, please plan to arrive ten to fifteen minutes early.
